infinite sky

brightness of the blue a distant sea
of air and light providing us a frame
a solitary avian passing wholly free
too far away for me to give a name
there is a shock at seeing other men
in such a quiet time of middle day
in solitary place i move my pen
a thought of light showing a better way
the sound of heavy feet is very clear
i think of messages and warmer times
there's a time to talk and one just to hear
we are now in the most desired of times
i turn my mind to all that i must do
and smile at all that i have now got through
