beyond cerulean

the play of light and shade is very clear
the frost has melted but the morning's cold
the lowing of the leaf-blower is quite near
the blue of sky is sharp and bright and bold
the light deceives promising to be warm
but drooping leaves another message give
outside the people walk with no alarm
even in deepest autumn hope will live
the year is turning fast towards its close
music provides a pleasant background noise
today however a single dark red rose
in its slim vase gives off a sense of poise
these words across the paths of space will fly
my humour like the day is cold and dry
